Our Teachers

The team at Educare Kids Glenfield are all dedicated professionals. They all bring their own unique strengths and personalities with them to create a nuturing and inspiring learning environment ensuring your child develops and reaches their potential.

All our teachers are police vetted, 80% fully qualified and registered with the NZ Teachers Council and all hold a current first aid certificate.

Regular performance appraisals and staff meetings are held to encourage sharing of ideas and maintenance of our vision. We believe in establishing and maintaining open communication and positive relationships between our staff, our children and their family.

Who we are

Owner Tania van Velzen has been involved with owning and building centres along with the daily operation for 15 years. Tania believes strongly in providing quality pre-school education and child care for children and giving them a strong start in life. Tania knows that a child’s earliest years are key to providing a strong base to a child’s future success in life. This is evident in the design of Educare Kids where you are welcomed in to the centre, with separate age groups, large play spaces and a fantastic outdoor playground.

Our environment ensures that children can be engaged in meaningful learning experiences and supports them in developing their communication skills, complex thinking, problem solving and learning to be confident and competent learners, ready for their next step into primary school.

For all of our children our curriculum involves individual planning for each child, as well as group facilitated learning. As a teaching team our teaching practice is guided by the identified priorities for children’s learning. We focus on children's knowledge, skills, attitudes and dispositions.

We actively plan the next learning steps for each child and believe that an effective & fun learning environment should include open questions, modelling conversations and desired behaviours and supporting and extending their learning. To facilitate a love of learning we integrate literacy and numeracy into meaningful experiences for children. We follow the New Zealand preschool curriculum Te Whaariki.
